Festivals of Agra

The Indian calendar is one long procession of festivals dedicated to various deities, saints, prophets and also seasons, with every day of the year being observed as a festival, in some part of the country. Each festival is unique in style and is characterised by colour, gaiety, enthusiasm, feasts and heterogeneity of prayers and rituals.

The festivities commence with a spectacular procession inspired by Mughal splendour. Bedecked elephants and camels, drum beaters, folk artists and mastercraftsmen all help to recreate a visual delight reminiscent of the golden era of the Mughal Darbars.
